Arctic Monkeys have announced details of the exclusive 10-inch vinyl single release of their forthcoming single ‘Cornershop’ through charity shop Oxfam.
The vinyl single will be available in the top 50 of the charity shop’s music stores across the UK from Monday 16th November. Each one will come with a code to allow fans to download the MP3s of the songs on the release.
In addition the band have announced that they have hidden “golden tickets” for their forthcoming sold-out UK tour in copies of the single. The release will include three new B-sides: ‘Catapult’, ‘Sketchead’ and ‘Fright Lined Dining Room’.
The move follows Arctic Monkeys’ release of last single ‘Crying Lighting’ - the seven-inch vinyl version of which they made available in Oxfam.
Arctic Monkeys and their record label, Domino, are asking music fans to bring in any unwanted albums or singles to their local Oxfam shop when they pick up their copy of the single, to help Oxfam keep turning yesterday’s hits into vital funds for years to come. All the proceeds from the sale in Oxfam’s shops go to their work fighting poverty.
